This Privacy Policy applies when you:

  • Purchase or use our services;
  • Use our client billing portal;

  • Otherwise provide personal information to us.

1. Who We Are

PriortechLabs is a Tanzania-based provider of web hosting, domain-related services, VPS and server services, email hosting, SSL certificates, DNS services and other digital services.

For privacy-related questions or requests, please contact PriortechLabs using the contact information published on priortech.co.tz.

Where applicable, PriortechLabs will comply with the laws and regulations governing the processing and protection of personal data in Tanzania, including the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 and applicable regulations.

Where services are provided to customers in other countries, additional privacy and data-protection laws may apply depending on the customer’s location, the nature of the services and the activities involved.

2. What Is Personal Data?

“Personal data” generally means information that identifies, relates to, describes or can reasonably be associated with an identifiable individual.

Depending on how you interact with PriortechLabs, this may include information such as:

  • Name;
  • Email address;
  • Telephone number;
  • Postal or billing address;
  • Company or organisation information;
  • Account username;
  • Domain registration information;
  • IP address;
  • Device information;
  • Browser information;
  • Login and authentication information;
  • Service and subscription information;
  • Billing and transaction information;
  • Customer-support communications;
  • Technical information relating to your Services;
  • Information contained in support requests;
  • Website usage information;
  • Cookie and similar technology information; and
  • Other information you voluntarily provide to us.

We do not intentionally request personal information that is unnecessary for providing our Services.

3. Information We Collect

3.1. Information You Provide Directly. We may collect information you provide when you create an account, purchase a Service, register a domain, submit an order, contact support, submit a complaint, request technical assistance, complete a form, subscribe to communications, request a refund, contact us about billing, submit an abuse report, or communicate with PriortechLabs in another way.

3.2. Account Information. When you create a PriortechLabs account, we may collect information necessary to establish and maintain your account, including:

  • Full name;
  • Email address;
  • Phone number;
  • Address;
  • Country;
  • Company name;
  • Account login information;
  • Billing information;
  • Service history;
  • Invoices;
  • Payment status;
  • Domain information; and
  • Communications relating to your account.

4. Domain Registration Information

When you register or manage a domain through PriortechLabs, we may collect information required to process and maintain the domain registration.

Depending on the domain extension, this may include:

  • Registrant name;
  • Organisation;
  • Address;
  • Email address;
  • Telephone number;
  • Administrative contact information;
  • Technical contact information;
  • Nameserver information;
  • Domain registration and renewal information; and
  • Other information required by the applicable registry or registrar.

Some domain extensions have mandatory registration requirements. Where required, we may transmit registration information to the relevant registrar, registry operator, registry service provider or other authorised party.

The handling and disclosure of domain registration information may also be governed by the rules and policies of the applicable domain registry or registrar.

5. Hosting and Technical Information

When you use PriortechLabs hosting or server services, our systems may automatically process technical information necessary to operate and secure those Services, including:

  • IP addresses;
  • Server logs;
  • Login timestamps;
  • Authentication events;
  • Browser information;
  • Operating-system information;
  • Device information;
  • DNS information;
  • Error logs;
  • Resource-usage information;
  • Security events;
  • Firewall events;
  • Email delivery information;
  • Malware or abuse indicators;
  • Website access logs; and
  • Other technical information generated through normal operation of the Services.

This information may be processed to maintain system security, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse and provide the Services.

6. Customer Website Data

If you purchase hosting from PriortechLabs, you may store your own information, files, databases, email and other Content on our infrastructure.

PriortechLabs does not generally determine the content that customers choose to store on their hosting accounts.

Depending on the circumstances, PriortechLabs may process information stored on customer infrastructure as necessary to provide, maintain, secure or support the Services.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that their own collection and processing of personal information through websites and applications hosted with PriortechLabs complies with applicable law.

7. Payment Information

When you purchase Services, we process information necessary to confirm and manage your payment.

Depending on the payment method used, this may include:

  • Name;
  • Billing information;
  • Invoice information;
  • Transaction amount;
  • Currency;
  • Transaction date;
  • Payment status;
  • Payment reference;
  • Payment-provider information; and
  • Limited payment information provided to us by the payment processor.

Where payments are processed by a third-party payment provider, that provider may independently process payment information under its own privacy policy.

PriortechLabs does not need to receive or store full payment-card details when those details are processed directly by an appropriate payment provider.

8. How We Use Personal Data

We may use personal information for the following purposes:

8.1. Providing Services. We use information to create customer accounts, provision hosting, register and manage domains, configure Services, provide email and server services, process SSL certificates, manage DNS, process renewals, provide customer support, and perform other activities necessary to provide the Services.

8.2. Billing and Payments. We use information to generate invoices, process payments, confirm transactions, manage renewals, identify unpaid accounts, process refunds, detect suspicious transactions, and maintain financial records.

8.3. Customer Support. We use information to respond to questions, investigate technical problems, communicate about support tickets, troubleshoot Services, respond to complaints, and maintain records of customer communications.

8.4. Security. We may process information to detect account compromise, detect malware, prevent fraud, detect abuse, investigate suspicious activity, protect our network, protect customers, prevent unauthorised access, and maintain the security of our systems.

8.5. Legal and Regulatory Compliance. We may process and disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, comply with court orders, meet regulatory requirements, meet domain-registration requirements, establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or prevent or investigate unlawful activity.

8.6. Business Operations. We may use information to maintain customer records, improve our Services, monitor service performance, diagnose technical problems, understand general usage patterns, manage our business, and maintain appropriate accounting and administrative records.

9. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, PriortechLabs may process information on one or more of the following bases:

  • Performance of a contract;
  • Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract;
  • Compliance with a legal obligation;
  • Protection of legitimate interests, where permitted by law;
  • Protection of the rights, safety or security of individuals;
  • Your consent, where consent is required; or

The applicable legal basis may depend on the type of information and the reason it is being processed.

10. Marketing Communications

10.1. PriortechLabs may contact customers about service announcements, renewals, billing, security issues, account activity, product updates, maintenance, changes to our Services, and other information necessary for the customer relationship.

10.2. Where permitted by law, we may also send information about PriortechLabs products, offers or services.

10.3. You may opt out of non-essential marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the communication or contacting us.

10.4. Opting out of marketing does not prevent us from sending essential service-related communications.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

11.1. PriortechLabs may use cookies and similar technologies on our website and client systems.

11.2. Cookies may be used to keep you signed in, maintain a shopping cart or order, remember preferences, improve website functionality, protect accounts, analyse website usage, understand how visitors interact with our website, and improve our Services.

11.3. Some cookies may be placed by third-party service providers used by PriortechLabs.

11.4. You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies.

11.5. Blocking certain cookies may cause some website or client-portal features to stop working correctly.

12. Website Analytics

12.1. PriortechLabs may use analytics tools to understand general website usage.

12.2. Analytics information may include pages visited, approximate geographic information, device type, browser type, referring website, time spent on pages, general interaction information, and other aggregated or technical information.

12.3. Where third-party analytics services are used, the relevant provider may independently process information according to its own privacy practices.

13. How We Share Personal Data

PriortechLabs does not sell customer personal information as a product or provide customer databases to third parties for their own unrelated marketing purposes.

However, we may share information where reasonably necessary to provide Services, operate our business, protect customers, or comply with law. This may include sharing information with:

13.1. Infrastructure Providers. Hosting and technical infrastructure providers may process information necessary to operate servers, data centres, networks, DNS, storage, backup systems, security systems, and other infrastructure.

13.2. Domain Registries and Registrars. Domain-related information may be shared with the applicable registrar, registry operator, registry service provider, domain administration provider, or other authorised domain service provider.

13.3. Payment Providers. We may share information necessary to process and verify payments.

13.4. Email and Communication Providers. We may use third-party providers to deliver transactional emails, account notifications, support communications, security notifications, and other legitimate communications.

13.5. Security and Abuse Providers. We may share technical information with security providers where necessary to detect or prevent malware, spam, phishing, fraud, cyberattacks, account compromise, or other abuse.

13.6. Professional Advisers. We may share information with professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, auditors or other advisers where reasonably necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes.

13.7. Government and Law Enforcement Authorities. We may disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law or pursuant to a valid request, order, warrant or other legal process from a competent authority.

14. International Data Transfers

14.1. Some PriortechLabs service providers may operate outside Tanzania.

14.2. As a result, personal information may be processed or stored in Tanzania or another country depending on the Service and the providers involved.

14.3. Where personal data is transferred internationally, PriortechLabs will take reasonable steps required by applicable data-protection law.

14.4. International customers acknowledge that providing internet-based services may involve cross-border processing.

14.5. We will not use international data transfers as a reason to disregard mandatory privacy protections that apply to the processing.

15. Data Retention

15.1. PriortechLabs retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

15.2. Retention periods may depend on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, the customer’s relationship with PriortechLabs, legal and regulatory requirements, accounting requirements, domain-registration requirements, security requirements, dispute resolution, and the establishment or defence of legal claims.

15.3. When personal information is no longer required, we may securely delete, anonymise or otherwise dispose of it.

15.4. Backups may continue to contain information for a limited period after deletion from active systems.

15.5. Backup copies may be automatically overwritten according to our backup and retention processes.

16. Customer Account Data After Cancellation

16.1. Cancelling a Service does not necessarily result in immediate deletion of all associated information.

16.2. PriortechLabs may retain certain information where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, accounting, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, domain administration, contractual records, or other legitimate purposes.

16.3. Customer website files and other hosted Content may be deleted according to the applicable Service termination and data-retention procedures.

16.4. Customers should download information they need before cancelling or allowing a Service to expire.

17. Data Security

17.1. PriortechLabs takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, unauthorised disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, destruction, and other reasonably foreseeable security risks.

17.2. Security measures may include access controls, authentication controls, network security, server security, monitoring, logging, malware detection, security updates, backups where applicable, and internal access restrictions.

17.3. No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

17.4. Customers are also responsible for securing their accounts, websites, applications and credentials.

17.5. Customers should use strong passwords and available security features such as multi-factor authentication.

18. Data Breaches and Security Incidents

18.1. If PriortechLabs becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will assess the incident and take reasonable steps to contain, investigate and address it.

18.2. Where applicable law requires notification to a regulator, affected individuals or another party, PriortechLabs will make the required notification within the applicable timeframe.

18.3. Where legally permitted and reasonably appropriate, affected customers may be notified of a material incident.

18.4. We may delay notification where doing so is required or permitted by law or where immediate notification could interfere with an investigation or security response.

19. Your Data-Protection Responsibilities

If you use PriortechLabs hosting to collect or process personal information belonging to other people, you may have your own obligations under applicable data-protection law.

You are responsible for:

  • Informing your users about your processing activities;
  • Obtaining consent where required;
  • Having an appropriate lawful basis for processing;
  • Maintaining appropriate security;
  • Responding to data-subject requests where required;
  • Deleting information where legally required;
  • Limiting collection to information you actually need; and
  • Complying with applicable privacy laws.

PriortechLabs does not become responsible for your privacy obligations simply because your website is hosted on our infrastructure.

20. Data Subject Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion where legally applicable;
  • Request restriction of certain processing;
  • Object to certain processing;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Request information about how your data is processed; and
  • Make a complaint to a competent data-protection authority.

These rights are subject to applicable legal limitations. For example, PriortechLabs may need to retain certain information to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, prevent fraud or establish or defend a legal claim.

21. How to Make a Privacy Request

To request access, correction, deletion or other action concerning your personal information, contact PriortechLabs using the contact details published on priortech.co.tz.

Your request should include enough information for us to understand what you are requesting, identify the relevant account or information, and verify that the request is genuinely from you or an authorised representative.

We may request reasonable verification information before processing a request. We will not ask you to provide passwords or payment-card security information simply to verify your identity.

22. Identity Verification

22.1. We may need to verify your identity before providing personal information or making changes to an account.

22.2. Verification may be necessary to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure.

22.3. We will seek to request only information reasonably necessary for verification.

22.4. Where verification cannot reasonably be completed, we may be unable to fulfil certain requests.

23. Third-Party Websites

23.1. Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services.

23.2. PriortechLabs is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites that we do not control.

23.3. You should review the privacy policy of a third-party website before providing personal information to it.

24. Children’s Privacy

24.1. PriortechLabs does not intentionally collect personal information from children where doing so would violate applicable law.

24.2. Our Services are generally intended for individuals and organisations capable of entering into legally binding agreements.

24.3. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to PriortechLabs in circumstances where it should not have been collected, please contact us.

24.4. Where legally required, we will take appropriate steps to address the situation.

25. Customer Communications

25.1. We may communicate with you using the contact information associated with your account.

25.2. Communications may include account notices, invoice reminders, renewal notices, service changes, maintenance notifications, security alerts, abuse notices, support responses, legal notices, and other information necessary to administer your Services.

25.3. Keeping your email address and other contact information accurate is your responsibility.

25.4. PriortechLabs is not responsible for missed notifications caused by incorrect, inaccessible or outdated contact information supplied by the customer.

26. Abuse, Fraud and Security Investigations

26.1. PriortechLabs may process account and technical information when investigating spam, phishing, malware, fraud, hacking, account compromise, copyright complaints, network abuse, security incidents, or other violations of our Terms or AUP.

26.2. Information processed during an investigation may include server logs, IP addresses, account information, timestamps, relevant communications and technical indicators.

26.3. We may share relevant information with competent authorities, service providers or affected parties where required or permitted by applicable law.

27. Automated Processing

27.1. PriortechLabs may use automated systems to detect malware, spam, suspicious login activity, fraud indicators, abnormal traffic, security threats, and other technical or abuse-related activity.

27.2. Automated systems may generate alerts or temporary restrictions.

27.3. Where appropriate, a human review may be used before a significant enforcement decision is made, particularly where the circumstances allow.

27.4. Automated security measures are intended to protect our infrastructure and customers and do not mean that every automated detection is necessarily correct.

28. Social Media and Public Communication

28.1. If you interact with PriortechLabs through social-media platforms or other public communication channels, information you choose to make public may be visible to others.

28.2. PriortechLabs does not control the privacy practices of third-party social-media platforms.

28.3. Do not publicly post passwords, payment information, identity documents or other sensitive information when communicating with us.

29. Business Transfers

29.1. If PriortechLabs is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets or similar business transaction, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction where legally permitted.

29.2. Any successor organisation will be expected to handle personal information in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

29.3. Where required by law, affected individuals will receive appropriate notice.

30. Legal Disclosures

PriortechLabs may disclose personal information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law;
  • Respond to a lawful request;
  • Comply with a court order;

31. Data Minimisation

PriortechLabs aims to collect and process information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

We do not intend to collect personal information simply because it is available.

Where information is no longer reasonably necessary and there is no legal or legitimate reason to retain it, it may be deleted, anonymised or otherwise securely disposed of.

32. Accuracy of Personal Information

32.1. We aim to keep customer information accurate and up to date.

32.2. You are responsible for providing accurate information and notifying us when relevant information changes.

32.3. You may contact us to request correction of inaccurate personal information.

33. Confidentiality of Customer Information

33.1. PriortechLabs treats customer information as confidential and does not intentionally sell customer databases.

33.2. Access to customer information within PriortechLabs should be limited to people who reasonably need it to perform their responsibilities.

33.3. Certain technical personnel may have access to information stored on our infrastructure where necessary to operate, maintain, secure or troubleshoot Services.

33.4. Access may also occur where required for abuse investigations, security incidents, legal obligations or other legitimate operational purposes.

34. Information About Other People

If you provide PriortechLabs with personal information belonging to another person, you are responsible for ensuring that you are authorised to provide that information and that any required notice or consent has been obtained.

35. Changes to This Privacy Policy

35.1. PriortechLabs may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

35.2. Changes may be necessary because of changes in law, changes to our Services, changes to technology, changes to our data-processing practices, new security requirements, or other legitimate business reasons.

35.3. The latest version will be published on priortech.co.tz.

35.4. The “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this Policy indicates when the Policy was most recently changed.

35.5. Where required by applicable law, PriortechLabs will provide additional notice or obtain consent before implementing a material change.

36. Governing Law

36.1. This Privacy Policy is primarily governed by the applicable laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

36.2. This includes, where applicable, the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 and regulations made under it.

36.3. International customers may also have rights under the privacy and data-protection laws applicable to them.

36.4. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to remove a legal right or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.

If you believe that PriortechLabs has mishandled your personal information, we encourage you to contact us first so that we can investigate and attempt to resolve the matter.

Where applicable, you may also have the right to submit a complaint to the relevant data-protection authority or other competent regulator.

39. Privacy Commitment

PriortechLabs believes that privacy should be practical, understandable and respectful.

We collect information because we need it to provide Services, operate our business, maintain security, communicate with customers and comply with the law. We do not intend to treat customer personal information as a product to be sold.

At the same time, providing hosting, domain and online services requires some processing and sharing of information with infrastructure providers, registrars, payment providers, security providers and, where legally required, competent authorities.

We will seek to keep that processing appropriate to the purpose for which the information is needed and consistent with applicable law.
